Hi Zen Bee family! I'm Tina, the person behind the scenes in the soap shop. I’m a married, stay-at-home-mom to two amazing and super busy, teenage boys, and an avid crafter. I’m also a former trauma burn nurse.
The Zen Bee evolved into my now at-home, small business out of necessity because of personal health reasons, and a longstanding desire to reduce the use of non-recyclable, single-use plastic in my home.
As a person who has suffered, for years, from eczema and dry skin, I wanted to make homemade products, with healthier ingredients, that would help reduce flair ups and the embarrassment I felt from having scarred skin from so much scratching. I also wanted to make things more naturally to reduce all the plastic we brought into our home from buying store-bought bath and body products. I researched homemade soap and lotion recipes and found so much useful information and tons of tutorials.
These tutorials helped inspire, guide and teach me how to turn my passion for using more natural and eco-friendly bath, body and household products into a small business. I hope to inspire others to use really great, locally homemade, natural products in environmentally friendly containers that are returnable, washable, sustainable and reusable.
